North South connection and discussions
The conference will take place simultaneously in Delft in the Netherlands and in Cape Town, South Africa. There will be two way videoconference links between Delft and Cape Town. It is expected that about 400 will attend at the Delft venue and 100 at the Cape Town venue. Authors will be able to present at the venue of their choice, either Delft or Cape Town. In this way travel is reduced and the conference is contributing a sustainable innovative practice by saving energy for travel. This also facilitates meaningful discussion between North and South on environmental issues.
There will be number of parallel sessions at the conference, so a number of two way video links will be set up allowing for full interaction between the local and remote sites. Delegates at the remote location will be given the opportunity to ask questions and contribute to discussions in just as delegates can at the local location. Please note that either Delft or Cape Town can be the local location depending on whether the speaker for a particular presentation is attending in Delft or in Cape Town. There will also be some one way video links so that for those sessions where two way video links are not provided presentations can be video and audio streamed to the remote location.
